      How it works

In processing your locate request, Info-Excavation will check its database to see if any member companies have underground networks near the site where you wish to dig. We will then give you a reference number (e.g. 2005143025) to speed up your request and for communication purposes.

If there are no underground networks near the excavation site, one of our agents will confirm this fact via the same means that you used to make your request (phone, fax or email).

If there are underground networks near the excavation site, you will be given the names of Info-Excavation member companies, who will contact you after reviewing your request.

If the excavation work doesn’t compromise the integrity of the network or the safety of your employees and the public, the relevant member companies will inform you of this fact by phone or send you a confirmation by fax or email.  If the excavation work does pose a hazard, they will send a work crew to the site to mark the location of the underground networks with posts or paint.

While it usually takes 3 business days to process a request from the time it is received, Info-Excavation member companies may be able to act sooner in the event of an emergency.

Process your locate request on line
